More about the Community Council

All community council members are unpaid volunteers from the Cove and Kilcreggan Community geographical area (which includes Portkil, Ardpeaton and Peaton).

The next round of Community Council elections are due in the period 4th June – 21st August (exact dates to be circulated in early 2026).

Community Council elections are run every four years, with by-elections every two years. There are 16 places available on the Cove and Kilcreggan Community Council, with 13 places  currently filled. In between elections anyone can join the council by following the cooption process. Note that the Community Council meetings are held at 1915 in the Small Hall of Cove Burgh Hall on the second Tuesday of the ‘odd’ months.  Dates through to June 2026 as follows:

12 May 2026

9 June – AGM followed by a Community Council Meeting
